
As you saw in the video, we all live in one house: the Earth. That means that humans affect the animals that live on the Earth. Sometimes a species even becomes extinct because of humans. Have you heard of dodos, Tasmanian wolves, or the O'ahu 'O'o? These species are all extinct.
Species can die out naturally. But humans are killing them faster than before. Read this website for details. (You might need to wait for the page to show.) Click on the three buttons (Before Human, Current Pace, and The Future) to see how quickly animals became extinct in the past, are becoming extinct now, and will become extinct in the future.
